Wisps of Fear

The first widespread taste of fear fell across the Malignant Ruling Party early yesterday as a never-seen-before swell of voters blanketed areas from Namboole to Nakivubo Stadium in the full glory of YMK’s nemesis Dr. KB made his first official march after nomination.
In the high elevations, one could infinitely see the crowds that treaded with the Retired Colonel as they crawled and wound beyond the horizon. At the tail of the entourage, way beyond the magnificence of Namboole stadium, the sky seemed to have joined forces with the Dominant FDC flag bearer and his untamable supporters.
After a warm welcome, a change in the electoral weather pattern brought some colder and stormier weather to the Incumbent Mr. Tubonga Nawe with the first widespread mountain panic attack event that materialized into a botched press conference at the State house. As the procession entered the stadium, Mr. Tubonga Nawe watched NBS behind closed doors in his secret room in the nation’s only fortress. Goosebumps spread all over his hands and spasms all over his body brought him a mild fever when the Retired Dr. KB started charging the crowd with his signature super-charged, earth-crackling speeches. The whole nation swayed and staggered when the crowd in Nakivubo stadium gave The Man a standing ovation. All networks lost signal in that staggering moment and Uganda finally understood and did what needed to be done. All the sane voters cast their votes in favor of the opposition in their hearts and the polls were concluded. The virtual electoral commission declared the winner and democracy finally kissed Uganda for the first time since 1986. Just like Tanzania, yesterday Uganda had a successful election and peaceful transition from one president to another one. Rest in peace Corruption, rest in peace tribalism, rest in peace in peace Kayihura. A new day is upon us. Arise and shine Uganda.
